REFERENCE HYDROSYSTEM KÖNIGSWINTER

Commissioning of the filter system as part of a research project
of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Until March 2010, operational monitoring was carried out at intervals of approximately one week by employees of Grontmij GmbH, who were commissioned to carry out the practical tests as part of the research project.

A probe was operated to monitor the overflow and the data was read out by employees of the Königswinter municipal services. In order to evaluate the emergency overflow behaviour, precipitation events were evaluated, which were recorded by the nearby sewage treatment plant using a rain gauge.
During the first few months of operation, no irregularities were detected during the weekly inspections.

The fall and the long winter period (gritting) did not pose a problem and cleaning was not necessary until the report was written. Even increased exposure to plant pollen in spring did not lead to any of the adverse effects observed at other plants in the project.
